Barocco. The Grand Theater of Ideas @ Musei San Domenico (Forlì)

The exhibition offers an overview of Baroque culture: the ideas that gave rise to it, the key figures who shaped it, and the decisive role played by patrons. More than 200 works trace a journey through art, light, and power that began in Rome—the heart and birthplace of the Baroque movement—and went on to shape the language and culture of European courts.

The exhibition will be open to the public until June 28, 2026, at the San Domenico Civic Museum in Forlì, located in Piazza Guido da Montefeltro.

Alchimia Ginori 1737-1896. Art and Craftsmanship @ MIC (Faenza)

The exhibition offers a fresh perspective on two centuries of the history of the Doccia manufactory, presenting a unique account of the evolution of ceramics in the 18th and 19th centuries through the display of 160 porcelain works from the collections of the Ginori Museum. The exhibition highlights the interplay between creativity and materials, and between aesthetic exploration and scientific and technological progress—an interplay that has been at the heart of Manifattura Ginori’s work and led to the creation of the modern Richard-Ginori company. 

The exhibition is open until June 2 at the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, located at 19 Via Alfredo Baccarini.

Musica nelle Aie + Motta in concert @ Castel Raniero

On May 8, 9, and 10, the hills of Castel Raniero near Faenza will come alive with the sounds of “Musica nelle Aie,” a folk festival that takes place in courtyards and vineyards, featuring guided hikes, children’s activities, and cultural and culinary events.

Motta’s concert adds to the festival’s lineup. The Tuscan singer-songwriter will perform on Saturday, May 9, at Castel Raniero as part of the “Romagna in fiore” music festival.

Buongiorno Ceramica + 100 km del Passatore @ Faenza

On the weekend of May 22 and 23, Faenza will host a two-part national event. Throughout the weekend, the historic city center will be taken over by Buongiorno Ceramica, the citywide celebration of Italian ceramics, and its packed schedule of events will bring life to shops, squares, and museums.

At the same time, the city is awaiting the arrival of the 100 km del Passatore, the historic international ultramarathon in which runners set off from the Tuscan capital and, after crossing the Apennines, arrive in Piazza del Popolo in Faenza between Saturday evening and late Sunday morning.

How to visit the shop and workshop of La Vecchia Faenza

Where to find us: We’re located at Via Sant’Ippolito 23/A, just a short walk from the historic center and the International Museum of Ceramics (MIC).

Opening hours: We are open to the public, and admission is always free for all visitors. No reservation is required for small groups, individuals, or families.
We are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Group Special: We offer guided tours in Italian and English; the recommended duration is approximately 40 minutes, but we are flexible and can adapt to your group’s schedule and needs; visits outside regular hours, including Sundays, can be arranged (by reservation).

Our schedule for Made in Italy 2025

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September: open all day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday 24th May the 50th edition of the 100 km del Passatore will start from Florence (at 3:00 pm), the legendary ultramarathon “Florence-Faenza” that will see 3500 athletes competing on the roads of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, climbing up to the Passo della Colla and then descending towards Faenza. The top finishers are expected in Piazza del Popolo in Faenza already late on Saturday evening, but it is possible to complete the long race until 11 am on Sunday morning.

For many, the 100 km del Passatore is a challenge with themselves and crossing the finish line is a dream come true, but for some the goal is a top ten finish, chasing first place to write their name into the event’s roll of honor.

Also this year the winners of the King of the Mountains, that is the first woman and the first man to pass the Passo della Colla (913 meters above sea level at 48 km) and reach Faenza, will be awarded by the U.O.E.I. of Faenza with a majolica plate made by our workshop:

They are two plates decorated in Pavona with traditional Renaissance figures in the centre; they recall the ancient custom of paying homage to rulers with a portrait on ceramic.

All that remains for us to do is wish good luck to all the runners at the start of this fiftieth edition of the 100 km del Passatore!

On Saturday 17th we will be open at the usual times (9:00-13:00 and 15:30-19:00) and as always you will have the opportunity to visit both the ceramic exhibition and the laboratory where our decorations are born.

On Sunday 18th we will participate in two events that have now become traditional: the Breakfast and the Ceramista’s Aperitif!

The Ceramist’s Breakfast will have an exceptional location: the Salone delle Bandiere, where you can enjoy a Mokador coffee served in cups made by us ceramists while overlooking Piazza del Popolo or with your nose up, admiring the beautiful coffered ceiling of the Salone. The appointment is at 9:30 at the Residenza Municipale (Piazza del Popolo 31).

From 6:00 pm we await you at the Ceramista’s Aperitif in the courtyard of the seventeenth-century Palazzo Zauli-Naldi for a toast with wines from the Torre di Oriolo Association served in majolica glasses decorated for the occasion by us ceramists from Faenza.

On Sunday 24 November 2024 at 5 pm at Palazzo del Podestà, Faenza, the auction of the works created at the Mondial Tornianti 2024 and decorated by the ceramists of Ente Ceramica Faenza, including us from La Vecchia Faenza, will be held!
Auctioneer Matteo Zauli, director of the Carlo Zauli Museum.

The proceeds from the auction will go to support the ceramic promotion activities organized by the Associazione Ente Ceramica Faenza.

The catalogue of works by Aggiudicato! 2024

The works will be exhibited at Palazzo del Podestà on Saturday 23 November (10.30-12.30 and 16-18.30) and Sunday 24 November (10.30-12.30).

Saturday 18th: Ceramics Olympics

A moment of play born from an idea by ceramist Andrea Kotliarsky, the Ceramics Olympics will challenge adults and children to try their hand at games with clay. The event will take place from 5pm to 7pm in Via Ragazzini on the occasion of the “Tutti Insieme. A day to thank those who helped”, one year after the floods of May 2023.
Participation is free, booking is not necessary.

Saturday 18: Slow Art Souls – The places where Love must escape

At the Art Deposit spaces, in Via Nuova 31 in Faenza, there will be a solo show by Paolo Vegas who interprets, with his iconic works, poems by the Marche poet Emanuele Paolombari. The exhibition will remain accessible until June 8, 2024.

Sunday 19th: Ceramist’s Breakfast

Sunday 19 May, starting from 9.30 am, meet in the Loggia of the Salone delle Bandiere (Municipal Residence) to drink a coffee offered by Mokador with ceramic cups made by the Faenza ceramists; all accompanied by the String Ensemble of the G. Sarti School of Music of Faenza.
Cup and breakfast: 10.00 Euros.

Sunday 19th: Aperitif at the Ceramist

The now traditional event of the Ceramist’s Aperitif returns on Sunday 19 May: from 5.30 pm in the garden of Palazzo Zauli-Naldi it will be possible to purchase ceramic glasses made by the Faenza ceramicists together with a glass of wine from the winemakers of Terre di Oriolo, at the total price of €15.00.
A moment of meeting, accompanied by music and good company, to toast together to the restart one year after the flood events of May 2023.

Four years after the last edition, Argillà Italy returns to Faenza: on 2, 3 and 4 September 2022 the International Ceramics Festival and Market Exhibition fills the streets of the historic center with numerous exhibitions and events involving the whole city.

Great protagonist of Argillà will be the Exhibition of artistic and handcrafted ceramics, in which we too will participate together with potters from all over the world (29 nations are represented).

In addition to the stand and in our shops, some ceramics signed by La Vecchia Faenza will be part of two exhibitions:

• Faenza majolica in the paintings of the Pinacoteca, a guided tour of ancient paintings in which Faenza majolica is inserted. Reservation recommended: click here for info and viewing hours
• People of Romagna: the essence of Romagna expressed in the works of the Romagna artist Romano Buratti, in the canvases of the Pascucci 1826 printing house in Gambettola and in the ceramics of the artists and artisans of Faenza. Click here for info and visiting hours

Noteworthy is the reopening of the Palazzo del Podestà which, after the restoration, will host some interesting exhibitions.

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd Buongiorno Ceramica! returns to the Italian ceramic cities, for a weekend full of events and extraordinary openings. Faenza too, of course, will be the protagonist and, among the initiatives that will animate the historic city center, we at La Vecchia Faenza will participate in two particularly heartfelt moments that will be held on Sunday 22 in Piazza Nenni:

• from 8 to 12 the Ceramist’s Breakfastwith coffee served in the ceramic cupof the Faenza ceramists (more info here)
• from 6:30 pm the Ceramist’s Aperitif with the wines of the Torre di Oriolo Association in ceramic glasses made by Faenza ceramists (more info here)

Extraordinary openings for Buongiorno Ceramica!

On Saturday 21st it will be possible to visit the large ceramic exhibitionand the La Vecchia Faenza laboratory, in via Sant’Ippolito 23 / A, and the Laura Silvagni workshop in Corso Garibaldi 12 / A.

On Sunday 22, in addition to the anticipated events, you will find our artistic ceramics in the Laura Silvagni workshop (Corso Garibaldi 12 / A) which will observe the usual opening hours (8.30-12.30 and 15.30-19.00).
