On the 5-6-7 September 2014 Faenza will host the next edition of Argillà, a massive event dedicated to the fascinating world of ceramics and ceramicists.
From the afternoon of Friday, September 5th, until the evening of Sunday, September 7th, the historic center of the city will come alive with a large fair of ceramics and several other cultural and spectacular events related to this ancient but modern art.
Over 160 ceramicists from all over Europe will gather in the world capital of majolica, Faenza, to display and sell their works, thus giving the opportunity to the visitors to know and admire many techniques, from the most traditional to the most modern.
The market fair will be held along the streets of the historic center, ideally starting from the tree-lined avenue of the railway station, Viale Baccarini, where there is also the International Museum of Ceramics, which will host many events for the occasion.
The many exhibition stands will lead the visitors to the city main square, where a special wood-burning kiln will be installed. It will allow you to see the inside throughout the firing! Moreover, there will be the “Mondial Tornianti – L’oro del vasaio” ( World Potters’ Wheel Competition – Potter’s Gold) a spectacular event where the technical skill and creativity of potters from all over the world will be tested. These are just some of the many events and activities of this intense weekend!
Laura Silvagni “La Vecchia Faenza” invites all fans, enthusiasts, and collectors, to participate in this great happening!
In our stand we will exhibit new ceramics designed for the occasion, entirely hand-painted, according to the tradition that distinguishes Faenza’s majolicas and and our historic workshop. Follow us on facebook to learn about our initiatives related to Argillà!
Our shops of Corso Garibaldi and Via S. Ippolito are both located in the historic center, a few steps from the heart of the fair. There, you will be able to admire many hand-painted ceramics, also large in size, and will have the chance to visit the workshop.
Faenza, with its monuments and its ceramics, enriched by this unique international event will be the ideal destination for a day trip, suitable for everyone: families, children, groups of friends and tourists. We are sure that everyone will find what is looking for in the city: fun, entertainment, art and good food!
See you there!!!
