On September 4th and 5th Faenza hosted the Argillà Italia event, a show where La Vecchia Faenza participated with Antonella Cimatti.
I, Laura Silvagni, together with Antonella, prepared the stand, carefully choosing to display the most representative pieces of ceramics and the latest creations in painted majolica. Antonella displayed her delightful porcelain pieces, produced with the paperclay technique: white openwork as a reminder of the Faenza “Compendario” style ceramics.
To draw attention at the center of the stand we placed a large ceramic plate along with an amphora decorated with feminine figures.
Raphaelite decorated ceramics encountered much success, in particular the artistic holy water stoups: unique pieces with handmade decorations.
Much interest was also shown for the “Sinus Fluentes” collection, which was enriched with new pieces for the occasion, such as small covered stands with stars, heart, fish or cloverleaf.
Various shapes decorated with traditional décor, small hearts and butterflies, earrings, necklaces and bracelets were purchased as souvenirs of this nice event that took place in a mild week-end of September.
In thanking all participants, I would like to remind everyone that the next appointment with Argillà in Faenza will be in two years’ time, in 2012.
