Jugs, glasses, bottles: the potters from Faenza have always manufactured wine containters!
The “Grapes” decoration in various colors
The jug with grape leaves painted in blue is typical of Romagna and in the past it was used to bring wine to the farmers who were working in the fields.
We produce various types of ornamental jugs, also suitable for serving wine or water. The typical sizes are 2 liters, 1 liter and half-liter. The most classical is the one painted in blue, but the “rust” color is traditional as well. We also paint them in red and orange, the colors of Sangiovese and Albana, the Romagna’s most famous wines.
Grapes and Leaves in the past
Green leaves and grapes on pale bluish majolica is a traditional decoration of Faenza and dates back to the 19th century.
We paint this pattern mainly on tableware such as platters, trays, bowls, dishes and, of course, glasses and jugs.
